The Department of Economics is functioning with the inception of the college during the academic year 1995-96, Since then this department has emerged as the major centre for teaching and imparting knowledge at undergraduate level. Sixty (60) inquisitive students with high motivation and passion towards economics are selected in each academic year. Department of Economics has many potential benefits for individuals and society and help individuals to develop critical thinking skills and analytical abilities along with better career opportunities such as banking, finance, international trade, public policy, and consulting. In addition to regular academic programmes, extra-curricular activities are also organized to serve various objectives ranging from promoting community engagement to providing opportunities for students to develop additional skills and knowledge related to economics.
