History is being taught at G.P.G.C. Joshimath, Chmaoli Since 1996. The department offer undergraduate and Postgraduate Course. The major areas of focus in the department are socio, economic and cultural History of Ancient and Medieval India, Woman in Indian History, Tourism in India and Specifically History of Uttarakhand. The Master of Arts in History intends to provide a thorough understanding of Historical concepts, theories, sources perspectives and methodology, It also familiarize students with the development in Indian History and world History. It looks forward to a future of intellectual exchange and to promote a better understanding of human experience through the lens of History.
